The Andes soccer plane crash, also known as the “Miracle of the Andes,” is a harrowing and inspiring tale of survival against all odds. On October 13, 1972, a Uruguayan rugby team, along with their friends and family, embarked on a flight from Montevideo to Santiago, Chile. Tragically, their plane, a Fairchild FH-227D, crashed into the remote Andes Mountains due to poor weather conditions.
