The public’s attention is still riveted on the tragic and unsolved murder of Natalee Holloway. American high school senior Natalee Holloway, age 18, vanished on her graduation trip to Aruba on May 30th, 2005. She was last spotted leaving a club with Dutch adolescent Joran van der Sloot, as well as Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, brothers.

Natalee’s corpse was never located despite intensive searches and investigations, causing untold suffering for her loved ones. The case was widely covered by foreign media, and it prompted scrutiny of the Aruban court system.

Despite several arrests, Joran van der Sloot was cleared of any involvement in Natalee’s disappearance. In a later secretly recorded chat, he initially admitted to her murder but later recanted. For the death of another young woman, Stephany Flores, van der Sloot was apprehended in Peru in 2010. He has been incarcerated in Peru for some time now.

Natalee Holloway’s story is a chilling reminder of the many unsolved mysteries and cold cases that still exist in the world of true crime.
